Opportunity to join SWDC board

Thursday, 4 January 2018

Members of the local community have the opportunity to provide insight and contribute to the future of the region by being part of the South West Development Commission's board of management.

The State Government agency, which is responsible for the economic and social development of the region, is calling for applications from people who would like to help steer the direction of the South West through a role on the organisation's board.

The seven-member body sets policy and makes decisions about a broad range of projects and initiatives involving the Commission.

SWDC acting chief executive officer Rebecca Ball said it was an exciting time to be involved in regional development.

"The South West is in the process of being transformed through major projects such as the Transforming Bunbury's Waterfront initiative and Busselton-Margaret River Airport development," Ms Ball said.

"This is a great time to join the SWDC board and help shape the future of the South West."

SWDC is part of the WA Government and aims to make the South West an event better place to live, work and invest. Enhancing the economy and improving quality of life are key areas of focus.
