Tuesday, 27 February 2018

The search is on for outstanding photos to feature in next year's South West calendar.

Local photography enthusiasts have until June 30 2018 to enter the popular annual This South West Life photography competition.

Organised by the South West Development Commission to showcase local talent and promote the region, the contest has grown in popularity each year it has been held.

With the fourth edition of the competition open to entries, SWDC acting chief executive officer Rebecca Ball said now was the time for locals and visitors to get creative for the chance to win.

"This year, we are asking people to turn their lenses to the landscapes and landmarks of the South West," Ms Ball said.

"It's a chance to get creative and showcase what makes the region such a special place to live and visit, with the view to encouraging even more people to explore this amazing corner of Western Australia."

The competition is open to people of all ages, and both amateurs and professionals. Photos must be taken between January 1 2018 and June 30 2018, and meet the theme landscapes and landmarks, to be considered.

A total of 13 winning photos will be selected to feature in the 2019 This South West Life calendar, along with 13 runner-up winners.

One winner will have the additional honour of being the Chairman's Choice, while another will receive the CEO's Commendation.
