Event to focus on potential Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront stage two business opportunities

Tuesday, 17 July 2018

Local suppliers and sub-contractors interested in learning about opportunities connected to stage two of Transforming Bunbury's Waterfront can attend an upcoming information session.

The South West Development Commission and Department of Transport have teamed up to give businesses the opportunity to be briefed on the second phase of the Jetty Road causeway upgrade project and the associated scope of works.

Attendees at the event on Tuesday July 24 will also have the chance to become part of a local trades directory developed by SWDC that will be made available to those tendering for the full scope of works on phase two of the project commencing in early 2019.

Works will involve the replacement of the road, formalised parking, footpaths, landscaping and improvements to services including power, water, sewerage, firefighting and telecommunications, and potentially small building works.

SWDC acting chief executive officer Rebecca Ball encouraged businesses to come along to the latest in the Local Project, Local Opportunities event series.

"These events have been put on the business calendar by SWDC as part of its efforts to get State Government money being spent on major projects flowing to local businesses," Ms Ball said.

"The information session on the waterfront project will serve as a platform to present potential future business opportunities, and also provide a chance to network with representatives from other local businesses."
