Event to highlight business opportunities linked to Capel town centre revitalisation

Monday, 16 July 2018

As part of efforts to keep jobs and contracts in the region, the South West Development Commission and Shire of Capel are inviting local suppliers and subcontractors to learn more about the opportunities presented by the revitalisation of the Capel town centre.

Attendees at the information session taking place this Thursday July 19 will be briefed on stage four of the Capel Civic Precinct and the opportunities associated with the project.

The event comes as stage three of the project nears completion and planning for stage four gears up in anticipation of works on this phase beginning in October.

Stage four involves the development of a multi-purpose building designed to accommodate a range of community, youth and business uses.

SWDC acting chief executive officer Rebecca Ball said the project was being made possible with the aid of State Government funding.

"We are working to ensure more local businesses benefit from State Government-funded projects. Events like the one coming up in Capel form part of these efforts," Ms Ball said.

"We encourage local businesses to come along to the event, learn about the project, and see if there are opportunities to get involved."

The Local Projects, Local Opportunities event is taking place at 4pm on Thursday July 19 at Capel Shire Council Chambers.
