Friday, 20 July 2018

Nannup Shire president Tony Dean and Collie businesswoman Julie Hillier have been announced as new representatives on the South West Development Commission's board of management.

SWDC chairman Nick Belyea welcomed the appointments, saying the latest injection of talent will benefit the board and the wider region.

"Tony has extensive experience in community leadership roles in Bunbury and Nannup and will be a valuable addition to the board," Mr Belyea said.

"Julie runs very successful businesses in the Collie region and will add valuable input."

Ms Hillier said she was passionate about the roles she plays as a community member and businesswoman, and was delighted to be part of the board.

"I look forward to supporting the great team at SWDC and building upon the great work already under way to advance the economic and social outcomes at community, local and regional levels within the South West," Ms Hillier said.

Mr Dean said he would bring a whole of South West perspective to the board.

"I'm looking forward to putting forward that vision for the South West," Mr Dean said.

SWDC is part of the WA Government and is focused on making the South West region an even better place to live, work and invest. Boosting the economy and improving quality of life are key areas of focus.
