Discover how groups are putting the power in community hands

Tuesday, 29 May 2018

Come along to the upcoming Powering the Future of WA energy futures conference and discover how community-led organisations are taking energy generation into their own hands.

Augusta Margaret River Clean Community Energy chair Lyn Serventy, along with deputy chair Ian Williams, will be on hand to talk about the group's plans to establish a grid-connected clean energy facility at Scott River using a possible combination of solar, wind, and biogas.

"The path we're taking will provide a possible model for other communities to follow," Ms Serventy said.

To hear more about the project and how communities are shaping the energy landscape, attend the Critical Horizons - Powering the Future of WA event in the energy hub of Collie on Friday June 8.

Other speakers taking to the stage include WA Energy Minister Ben Wyatt, Coalition for Community Energy chair Heather Smith, and Synergy chief executive officer Jason Waters.

Topics to be discussed range from community energy to bioenergy and coal futures.
