The late Marley has more than one place on the Bunbury waterfront

Have you seen the latest tribute to Marley, the late dingo who called Casuarina Boat Harbour home? Marley has been immortalised in a striking mural at Casuarina Boat Harbour.

Much-loved Bunbury harbour dingo Marley sadly passed away in June last year – but he has not been forgotten.

Memories of Marley continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those who crossed paths with him – and in public tributes on the waterfront.

In the latest homage to the dog who made the harbour his home for more than a decade, Marley has been honoured with a striking mural at Casuarina Boat Harbour.

The initiative is thanks to the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (harbour manager, DTMI) and Bunbury Senior High School, with funding from Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront. The artwork is a creative collaboration between Bunbury Senior High School’s Year 10 students and local artist Andrew Frazer. The artwork is on the toilet block constructed by local contractor Koormal Group as part of Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront, and located near the boat ramp and car park that was made possible through the transformational project.

The mural follows the renaming of Boat Ramp Road at Casuarina Boat Harbour to Marley Place in October 2025. The DTMI installed new street signage, completing the name change after approval from Landgate and close collaboration with the City of Bunbury and the South West Development Commission.

In 2013, Marley first came to live at the harbour with his owner who had rescued him years earlier as an orphaned pup in the Pilbara. Marley became a familiar face at the harbour and was much loved by locals and visitors.
