Cate Brooks
Cate is the Chief Executive Officer of the South West Development Commission. Cate brings more than 15 years of experience in the Western Australian public sector, with a strong focus on regional development and economic transition.
Prior to her current role, Cate served as the Director of the Collie Delivery Unit in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (2022-2025), where she led the implementation of the State Government’s $692 million Just Transition package.
Cate has held senior leadership roles across the government, previously working as the Executive Director of the Native Forestry Transition at the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation, and in various positions in regional development leading complex, place-based initiatives that support regional communities through change.
