Innovative Industries of the Future Conference to put the South West on the map as an investment destination

The South West Development Commission has launched the much-anticipated Innovative Industries of the Future (IIF) Conference to key stakeholders, ahead of the event being held in Bunbury over November 5 and 6 2024.

A new premier economic conference, IIF shines the spotlight on the future industries shaping economies and positions the South West region as an opportune place for investors to capitalise on growth opportunities.

IIF 2024 will bring together investors and decision-makers to the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre to showcase the new and emerging industries supporting economic growth and net zero targets.

The program for this year’s two-day event will feature presentations from high-profile and international keynote speakers, an exhibition, and networking experiences.

“This is very much about connecting business to business, business to government, and government to government,” SWDC CEO Mellisa Teede said.

“It’s about world economic growth opportunities– and how the South West can be part of this.”

The event will be a catalyst for putting the South West on the map to investors and decision-makers, and highlight how local innovators are competing on the global stage. The conference will also look to global trends and those sectors that are emerging and poised to shape the region’s growth.

The themes for the inaugural conference will centre around advanced manufacturing, critical minerals, renewables, and the digital and creative economy.

“We will also be looking at the digital economy and technology, and have a focus on the creative industries and how we can link local businesses and start-ups into supply chains of big investors and industries,” Ms Teede said.

“We want to have the local SMEs linked up to some of the big industries and policy makers of government.”

The conference will also highlight the lifestyle the region offers as an attractive place to live, work and invest. The South West is well known as a premium wine and tourism region.

Speakers and a program will be announced in the near future.

A total of $1.6 million has been allocated by the WA Government for the South West Development Commission to stage the conference over three years.
