Spotlight on South West as destination for innovative industries

Regional Development Minister Don Punch has today announced tickets are now on sale for a major conference taking place this year, that will further position the South West of Western Australia as an investment destination and centre for innovative industries.

To be held at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre over 5 and 6 November 2024, the two-day conference will bring into sharp focus the global trends and the future industries shaping economic growth and jobs creation.

The inaugural Innovative Industries of the Future (IIF 2024) Conference will put the region on the map to visiting investors and decision makers for its potential to contribute to the WA and national economies.

The South West is well-known for its longlist of comparative advantages including its capability to support the clean energy transition through the supply and processing of critical minerals.

The IIF 2024 is led by the South West Development Commission, which will work with key stakeholder groups to stage the conference. Speakers and a program for the inaugural conference will be announced in the near future.

The Cook Government previously announced in the 2024-25 State Budget a total of $1.6m towards an international conference in Bunbury over three years to promote investment into the South West region.
