New aerial photographs provide a unique perspective into how Casuarina Drive is continuing to evolve through the Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront project.
The bird’s eye views show that the $10.8 million Casuarina Drive Redevelopment is well underway.
Nearing completion is Phase 1 of the Redevelopment, which takes in the foreshore area around Jetty Baths.
The area is being enhanced as a destination for locals and visitors. The new waterfront promenade will incorporate pedestrian and cycle links, improved beach access, terracing and amphitheater-style seating and steps, a shaded playground, and BBQ areas.
Construction has started on Phase 2 of the Redevelopment, which involves the delivery of essential civil and servicing works.
Phase 2 focuses on upgrades to roads, drainage, car parking and services along Casuarina Drive. The services will replace ageing power, water and telecommunications infrastructure, which will be consolidated into a single corridor.
A section of Casuarina Drive will be improved and the car park east of the BP Beach will be upgraded.
Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront is a State Government project overseen by the South West Development Commission and delivered in partnership with the Department of Transport, DevelopmentWA, City of Bunbury and Southern Ports.
The Casuarina Drive Redevelopment is being project-managed by DevelopmentWA for SWDC which is leading the Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront project.
